Created as part of \u201cWork in Progress\u201d Members\u2019 Show at Bank Street Arts, Sheffield, \u201cNovember 2005<\/em>\u201d is a durational work about memory.<\/p>\n I attached a photograph which I took some years ago to the wall near the ceiling in a corner of Gallery 3. \u00a0I took a photograph of that photograph on my phone and took it home and printed it. \u00a0The next day, I returned and pinned that photograph under the previous one. \u00a0I then took a photograph of that photograph and took it home to print, returning the next day to pin that photo under the previous one, and so on.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Each time we revisit a memory, it is from a slightly different perspective. \u00a0Some features\u00a0are added and remain; they become a permanent fixture in that memory. \u00a0Some things disappear from the memory and cease to appear in the canon: the mind\u2019s\u00a0official, approved version of that memory. \u00a0Certain elements become saturated, polarised, simplified. \u00a0Over time, the memory must fade.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In\u00a0addition\u00a0to the physical act of construction through regularly revisiting the gallery space to build the work, \u00a0I was also engaged in an ongoing process of personally, cognitively revisiting the memory; a process running parallel to its physical manifestation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/geraintedwards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/November2005Room.jpg\")
